Manchester City's manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted that his team is aiming for the treble after their impressive victory over Real Madrid.

Manchester City is on the verge of making history by winning the treble this season. The Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League are all within reach for Pep Guardiola's side, who have been in sensational form throughout the campaign.

The only English team to have achieved the treble is Manchester United, who did so in 1999. But City can emulate their neighbours if they win their remaining three matches this season. They need just one more win to clinch the Premier League title, and they are also in two cup finals after demolishing Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Guardiola has been reluctant to talk about the treble, but he has now admitted that his players are thinking about it. "We're closer. Let me win the first two!," he said. "In the Premier League we are close, we need one more game. And I would say when we play against our neighbours and in the final of the Champions League against an Italian team, be calm."

City have been outstanding this season, playing some of the best football in Europe. They have been dominant in the Premier League, winning 27 of their 35 matches so far. They have scored 76 goals and conceded just 24, giving them a goal difference of +52.

In the FA Cup, they have already reached the final, where they will face Leicester City. They beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the semi-finals, with Aymeric Laporte scoring the only goal of the game.

But it is in the Champions League where City have really excelled this season. They have won 11 of their 12 matches so far, scoring 25 goals and conceding just four. They beat Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain in the knockout stages before thrashing Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

City will face Chelsea in the final, which will be played in Istanbul on May 29. Chelsea have also been in good form in the Champions League this season, beating Atletico Madrid, Porto, and Real Madrid to reach the final.

It promises to be an intriguing encounter between two of the best teams in Europe. City will be hoping to win their first Champions League title, while Chelsea will be looking to add to their previous triumphs in 2012 and 2021.

City's success this season is down to the outstanding performances of their players. Kevin De Bruyne has been exceptional in midfield, while Ruben Dias has been a rock at the heart of their defence. Phil Foden has also emerged as one of the best young talents in Europe, scoring 15 goals in all competitions.

But it is Guardiola who deserves the most credit for City's success. He has built a team that plays with flair and creativity, while also being solid at the back. He has also managed to get the best out of his players, who have responded brilliantly to his tactics and coaching.

If City do win the treble this season, it will be a remarkable achievement. They will have joined an elite group of teams who have managed to win all three major trophies in a single campaign. But even if they fall short, they can still look back on a season of great success and progress.

City have already won the Carabao Cup this season, beating Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the final. They are also on course to win the Premier League title, and they will be favourites to beat Leicester City in the FA Cup final.

Whatever happens in the remaining matches this season, City can be proud of what they have achieved so far. They have played some of the best football in Europe, and they have shown that they are a team to be reckoned with.

The future looks bright for City, with Guardiola committed to building a team that can dominate English and European football for years to come. The treble may be within reach this season, but there will be many more opportunities for City to add to their trophy cabinet in the years ahead.
