Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison believes the "exceptional" performance of Florian Wirtz wasn't enough to stop Liverpool "toiling", as they lost the Community Shield to Crystal Palace on penalties. Liverpool have already seen five incomings so far this transfer window, and it was the club's record signing that caught the eye at Wembley. The Reds had twice been in front but saw Crystal Palace get back in to the game to pick up a second trophy in three months.
